Most vineyards grow good fruit. A rare few grow wines that could only have come from one place, and DuBrul Vineyard is one of them. Hugh and Kathy Shiels planted this steep, south-facing hillside in 1992, and it has twice been named Vineyard of the Year. Its own-rooted vines, low-vigor soils and closely tended microclimates produce small, concentrated berries with unmistakable character. In 2001 the Shiels family founded Côte Bonneville to give this site its purest expression. They make only about 2,500 cases each year, which makes these wines as hard to find as they are admired.

Join us at Aerlume™ for a four-course dinner, with each course composed for a wine from this celebrated estate. Hugh Shiels will join us in person to share the story of the vineyard he planted more than three decades ago, from the hillside and the soil to every vintage in your glass. Against the evening light over Elliott Bay, it is a rare chance to hear from the person who grew the grapes about what happens when winemaking begins in the vineyard.
